Section C05 is a 2.3-mile section of new highway and interchange between the Route 26 Bellefonte Bypass and Route 144 constructed by HRI, Inc. of State College. 

This section of the I-99/Route 26 project was awarded late in 1998 at a bid price of $39.3 million. Work began in January of 1999 to connect the existing Route 26 (Bellefonte Bypass) to the next section of new highway west of Route 144.

Interchanges with the existing bypass and Harrison Road are included in this project along with high-level bridges over Route 144, the Nittany & Bald Eagle Railroad and the Logan Branch stream. These bridges have four spans, which together total 920 feet in length, and the bottom of the bridge beams are 100 feet above Route 144.

This section includes a total of 15 bridges, including the project's highest bridges, and 2.5 miles of ramps.
