Friday, April 11, 2008 at 2p.m. There will be a ceremony to mark the naming of a portion of Route 22/322 in Juniata County for the late Dr. L. G. Guiser. The event is being held at the fish and boat access area between the highway and the Juniata River. The public is invited. Access the site from the eastbound lanes of Route 22/322 through the Lewistown Narrows. The ramp to the fish and boat area is about four miles east of the Lewistown Interchange.

December 5, 2007: Pennsylvania Transportation Secretary Allen D. Biehler, P.E., was in the Narrows to recognize the expected early completion of the project. Also speaking at the media event attended by elected and community leaders was Pennsylvania Senator Jake Corman.

August 22, 2007: WHTM TV, WHP TV, WGAL, Fox TV News, the Lewistown Sentinel and the Patriot-News joined the PennDOT team for a tour of the Lewistown Narrows project. The media help the public understand what the current traffic patterns are and what to expect when they travel through the more than six mile construction zone. That helps avoid potential accidents. Another purpose of the tours is to help the media understand how the project is progressing, so they can relay that to viewers and readers. Media tours have been annual events held prior to the first Penn State home football games. Those games are one of the biggest traffic generators through the Narrows.
